Vocci’s ring adds a new form factor to meeting note-taking
techcrunch ·
Vocci has released a lightweight ring designed primarily for recording and taking notes during meetings. Users double-tap its button to start or stop recording, while holding the button lets them ask Vocci AI questions when the app is open; the ring weighs under 6 grams and comes with a case that can recharge it up to three times. In testing, it produced mostly accurate transcripts from conversations lasting more than an hour in loud cafés, though it was less useful for taking brief notes. The app is confusing, sometimes generates insights longer than the original notes, and organizes transcripts and recordings in a redundant way. Vocci also lacks direct reminder-app integration, and some promised software connections have been slow to roll out. The ring raises privacy concerns because it resembles jewelry and its recording indicator faces the wearer, while its $249 price makes it more expensive than some competing note-taking devices.
