Work management context for AI agents with Smartsheet MCP on AWS
aws ·
Smartsheet has launched a generally available Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server on AWS, enabling AI agents to interact with work management data through natural language. This integration allows Amazon Quick and Kiro to read, write, and manage Smartsheet sheets, rows, and automations without requiring users to switch applications. Amazon Quick provides a no-code solution for business users and project managers to query status and update tasks via chat. Meanwhile, Kiro offers developers a way to access live project context directly within their coding environment using spec-driven workflows. The architecture utilizes Streamable HTTP transport and supports authentication via OAuth 2.0 or Personal Access Tokens across US, EU, and AU regions. Enterprise governance features ensure security through user-level permission enforcement and organization-level AI controls. The server is designed to provide token-efficient payloads, reducing costs and latency for large-scale AI-assisted queries.
