techcrunch ·
Zenzap has secured $44 million in funding to develop an AI-powered private messaging application designed for workplace communication. The startup aims to replace consumer apps like WhatsApp and Telegram by offering a platform that complies with IT security rules while providing organizational context through AI agents. Founder Guy Weiss, who previously sold StuccoMedia, initially bootstrapped the venture but was convinced by Bessemer partner Adam Fisher to seek venture capital for scaling. The app targets diverse industries such as hospitality, construction, and healthcare, addressing the gap between personal messaging tools and traditional enterprise platforms like Slack. Zenzap offers free basic chat features alongside paid tiers starting at $51 per month for advanced capabilities like voice calls and smart task management. Current clients include major brands such as FedEx, Starbucks, and McDonald’s, which use the platform for shift coordination and supply discussions. The company employs 50 staff across the US, Tel Aviv, and Europe, with plans to expand its product and R&D teams.
